At the age of 4 Grace participated in her first modeling pageant, Talent America.talent america She won first place on the state level and was invited to compete regionally in NYC. We were somewhat overwhelmed by the entire experience and so we chose not to go any further with it. Grace enjoyed the first pageant so much we entered her in another pageant when she was 5. Grace won in several categories including over all and was presented with a 1 year modeling contract with a local agency. She recieved the title of Little Miss Hollywood, a sash, trophies, photo packages and a whole lot of self esteem. The following year we moved to a new local agency in addition to her mom finding her various local jobs. Grace acted in a few of her sister's college film projects and was hired for a local commercial/public service announcement (RICAP airs on NESN occasionally). This was her first real acting gig. She took over as soon as she walked in the door...turning a non speaking role into a speaking one...even advising the director as to what words she should say. They filmed it both ways and ultimately used the one Gracie 'directed'.

Jungle book kids TYTShe loved the acting so much that mom and dad found a nearby Children's Theatre where Gracie spent about 6 months working on The Jungle Book Kids. Grace enjoyed the acting part but not the kids part. She found the other children distracting and unfocused.

She soon landed another commercial for a museum in Boston Home - Gracie~Mae Child Actor(Boston Children's Museum aired summer/winter 2006). Several college student films followed as word got around and not long after she was hired for a small but pivital role in an all adult casted play in Providence, RI. She loved it! She felt that everyone was focused and professional. She announced that she would never do children's theatre again.
She was hired for a small part in a short local film called Red Sneakers (http://redsneakersmovie.com/ ).Red Sneakers is now on the festival circut and can be seen at the RI International Film Festival in August 2008. She had a great time on set, learning protocol and the ins' and outs' of filming.

Grace was hired as an extra for Sleather http://sleathermovie.com/ (in post production), an Indie filmed locally. sleather
When she arrived on set she and mom were approached and asked if she would like and could handle a small speaking part. She was thrilled! This is when she decided that her love is in film acting.
She spent several hours at auditions for major motion picture films including, Dan in Real Life and Underdog, to no avail. They were looking for something different. This did not deter her, ever.
She attended a ProScout event in Boston, being one of only about 150 chosen from 1500 to perform a monologue in front of agents/casting directors from all over the country in addition to the almost 3000 people in the audience that day. Considering this was the first time she had done anything like this in front of more than a few people, she did a great job. Unfortunately, again, she was not what they were looking for that day.
Gracie was hired for a short film called "Hope for a Sustainable Future" This was filmed in conjunction with the Aperion Institute's Go Green RI Festival. See the film here: http://www.apeiron.org/right_way/Hope.html She had a great time filming this short piece which won second place in the Aperion film festival and a PEG award for Best cooperative effort with a school or non-profit. Gracie was in attendence at the opening events of the 2007 RI International Film Festival. She was completely awed by the films, the acting and the excitement of the entire evening. She saw people she knew and recognized from her contact with the local film world.wheaton college short
She went on to set goals for herself. She wants ultimately to have her own show. For now she wants to get cast in any major film project and next year to go to pilot season in LA. She attends workshops when ever she can find them available to people her age and networks constantly.
Recently she landed a role as a regular cast member on a PBS series for kids called JoJo's Dreamcart http://jojosdreamcart.com/. She is so excited to see her hard work paying off pooland her dreams coming true. Filming for JoJo's Dreamcart began in February, 2008.
Grace has other projects in the works and will update as news comes available. To view Gracie-Mae's resume please follow the resume page link at the top of this page.

When Gracie isn't busy acting she enjoys swimming on the Boys and Girls Club swim team. She strives to swim daily in order to improve her times. She also plays on basketball and softball leagues in town and belongs to her school chorus and hand chimes group. In her down time (there is very little of it) she loves singing and dancing. She attends all of her brother's high school baseball, football and basketball games and gets excellent grades in school.
